Sleep help (to train or not to)

Brooke

So my baby boy is 10 months, he used to sleep 8pm till 9am straight through with me maybe having to replace his dummy once or twice, but now for the last month or so he has been going down at 8 and then waking up at half 9 ready to play or just being extremely fussy, I make sure I’ve checked him over, bottle, nappy, temperate etc etc but he will not go back to sleep unless I pick him up and he usually tries to close his eyes on me

It’s not a habit I want to continue, although I love cuddles from my boy I do really need my me time and I want him to have a healthy sleep routine down, so for the last few nights I have tried laying him down in his cot and leaving the room, he will immediately cry and crawl/pull up on the side of the cot where the door is, I wait a few minutes and go in and repeat, I can do this anywhere from between 3 times to 15 for it him to eventually sleep or me give up 😩

I feel horrible for letting him cry but it’s the only way he realises it’s time for sleep, I’m really unsure of whether me going back in is making him worse.

Any words of advice or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, should I just ride it out or sleep train?
