Think Femara worked... just super late?
I took my first round of provera and Femara 5mg and my day 21 progesterone came back very low and I was crushed. My doctor even said “are you sure you took the Femara this cycle?” They told me to wait two weeks after my “missed” period (based on a 28 day cycle) and then I would start another round of provera and Femara 7.5 mg. I felt super defeated and convinced myself the higher dose wouldn’t work anyway.
But TODAY, CD 37, my period just started on its own!! I know without a progesterone test I can’t confirm anything, but does that mean it’s likely I just ovulated after the CD 21 progesterone test but did eventually ovulate on Femara? Does that mean it’s more likely I will ovulate (hopefully sooner) with the higher dose? Should I actually feel hopeful?
Background: been trying for over 2 years now. I just went to the doctor in November and we did tests and confirmed I don’t ovulate on my own and it’s possible I never have. I don’t have PCOS. All my other hormone levels are what they should be. My doctor thinks I just don’t give my body the right signals to ovulate. Ever since I first starting my periods they have been very infrequent, 2-4x a year, very short and light. The provera induced period was the heaviest I have ever had 10 fold and the one I just started seems to be pretty heavy as well.
