Won’t drink when sick?

My 9 month old is sick and has a stuffy nose, so he’s completely refusing to take his bottle. And he hasn’t yet learned to drink from other types of containers, no matter how much we’ve tried. So now he’s currently in the hospital getting IV hydration. Has anyone else experienced a total refusal to drink when sick and how did u deal with it??

I feed while they sleep, my baby is he is used to half asleep feeds sometimes so I find when he's ill the only way is to use saline if he's bunged up to get rid of it then wait till he's settled again and feed while he sleeps, he forgets about the pain and that he is ill and feeds so much more than when he's awake and ill xx

Run the hot water in the shower and feed him like that with the steam to clear him up. You can also try zarbees vapor rub on his chest, but the bathroom steam is going to be your savior

Syringe full of pedialyte and squirt into mouth. Had to do this when my 3 year old had the flu...otherwise she wouldn't eat or drink.
