Anyone else have reptiles?

Question

I have a tortoise and a bearded dragon. The beardie has tile for the substrate and the tortoise of course has a mixture of eco earth, a little bit of reptisoil for the plants, and some mulch. I’ve been noticing some sugar flies coming from his enclosure, I plan on replacing his substrate but wanted to see what I could get that will help get rid of the bugs.

I put all the live plants in their own plastic pots in the tortoise cage, pop them out, and dump boiling water into the substrate and mix it in (not with the tortoise in there obviously).  That always kills them off for a month or more.  I know some people use sticky fly strips around it.  Make sure you clean up all leftover food and any poo daily.
