Working during IVF?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if all you lovely people are working during the <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> process? I have a relatively stressful job and I’m debating whether to ask the doctor if I should be “on sick leave”. Been trying for a baby for nearly 5 years, taken a year to get to the point where we are nearly ready to start <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>... want to do everything I can to make it a success. Thoughts?

I took off for two weeks during the injections, egg retrieval, and transfer. I luckily work as an independent contractor and am in charge of my own schedule. I was able to work from home a good amount but also take time to rest and relax and I found that really helpful.

I actually didnt want to be home but I have a pretty stressful job with a lot of travelling plus I have in-law with dementia living  with us at the moment..my husband works alot so everywhere is stressful. I decided to get signed off because it was too much having to take my work home and take care of the family. Best decision ever as I've been taking care of ME ..working out... Eating right and I find the days go quicker at home .. only danger is now I'm thinking I dont want to go back to work because I'm not happy there.

I was working in a very stressful environment which also required a lot of travel. I wanted a change, and decided to leave my job. A few months later we found out about my infertility and having to start IVF. So I decided not to go back to work full time, as I wanted a flexible schedule and zero added stress. I found myself getting a little depressed and anxious about this process. I needed a distraction, so I  recently took on the responsibility of being my sisters caretaker part time (she is mentally disabled), this way I can schedule my weeks around my treatments and office visits. It’s been a nice distraction for me.

I’m working during IVF and have a relatively stressful/busy job. I like the distraction work gives me. If I’m at home I tend to spend all day researching IVF 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’m not planning on taking any time off other than what’s necessary. So just egg retrieval. And I will have to duck out or come late on transfer day/ultrasound days. I haven’t figured out what exactly I’ll tell them but will try to be as vague as possible.

I'm working too, but fortunately only part time (although that really means my days "off" are spent working at home). My job is also relatively stressful so i've been wondering the same. I'm not sure if here a fertility doctor could sign me off. I think it's have to go to my gp.
Fortunately I have holidays coming up. Although I am planning to use that time to get ahead of myself so work isn't too stressful.

I was lucky that the monitoring center is right between my home and work.  I took the day off for retrieval and worked half a day on transfer day.  I am hoping I will need the time once we get pregnant so want to save as much as possible
