Does your 4 year old throw tantrums?

Like the other day I started counting to 3, and she let out this giant shriek and stood there shaking out of anger and her face was beet red, then she said “I don’t WANT YOU TO COUNT TO THREEEEEEEEE.” 
And her sister also accidentally kicked a deck of cards she was playing with when she walked by, and she again froze, shrieked, and shaked out of anger and then started sliding the cards around and messing them up more out of anger. 
Normal or behavioral issue?

Totally normal.  Stay consistent and she’ll get through it!

It’s pretty normal. Not only is she not fully capable of expressing her feelings yet, but ￼they also do this when they don’t feel like they are in control of anything. It’s their way of being in control. My advice to you would be to let her feel like she’s in control of things sometimes. Let her make choices on her own, such as picking out her own clothes, picking out what’s for breakfast that day, choosing a TV show, etc... something that will allow her to feel in control. maybe she feels like things are too controlled in your home, or perhaps she feels out of control or powerless (in this case to control her own cards)￼ when the other sibling is around, etc... maybe create some boundaries with the other sibling, like when your four-year-old is playing cards, ask the other sibling￼ to walk around her and not right through the cards￼… Etc
Other reasons she might be acting like this is being overtired, being overstimulated, being hungry, being dehydrated, etc.… ￼￼ my daughter has mood swings if she is tired especially, but also when she’s getting hungry.￼ I immediately open my arms to my daughter and say, “I can see you are very upset, let’s calm down and then we’ll figure out what’s wrong.”￼ nine times out of 10, she will jump right into my arms ￼and then we do deep breathing together until she is calm and can talk about what happened.￼
Generally, it’s a phase that will pass.￼
