2 month old - stuffy nose

What can I do for my 2 month old? He and I both woke up with runny/stuffy noses. I cleared his nostrils but I hear mucus when he breathes up in his sinuses where I can’t reach or see. I checked his temperature rectally and it’s at 98.8. Usually his temperature is always 99 point something.. it has been since we brought him home. I just worry about his breathing.

Since there is no fever, I’m thinking this is the cause of the winter dry air in our house mixed with allergies to dust and pet dander. We have a humidifier on the first floor that we neglected to run this past week. We turned it on last night.

Any helpful thoughts or advice? The dr office is closed today but I called their “on call answering service” and I’m waiting for a call back.

Edit: The Dr wasn’t concerned since my LO never broke into a fever of 100.4 rectally and said to keep using saline and clearing out his nose so he can sleep and breath. We are getting a humidifier (his boogers are bloody from the dry winter air) and I’ve been checking his temp on occasion to monitor him.
