Does maca root help to conceive?

I am curious whether any of you have tried maca root. The reviews say that it helps fertility but i am not sure how much it helps with fertility an conceiving.

We both tried it for two cycles. My cycles were very regular every 30 days ovulated the 15th. While on maca root it shortened my cycles and threw everything off. I stopped it this cycle
