Pregnant Without Health Insurance

Has anyone gone through pregnancy and labor without health insurance? I just recently found out I’m pregnant & guessing I’m about 5 weeks in. I cancelled my health insurance towards the end of 2019 because it didn’t sound like I’d be able to get pregnant any time soon & I didn’t need it for anything else. Well, jokes on me! Now it’s too late to get any form of insurance.

How much did your pregnancy and labor cost you before health insurance? I plan to contact my hospital choices this week so I can try to get an idea from them as well.

And before anyone suggests it - my husband makes far above what the income requirements are for Medicaid & we don’t qualify for any assistance. But if I can’t get some kind of idea on what this might cost us, we may not be able to go through with this. TIA.
