He bangs his head?

Question

My 9 month old boy likes to bang his head on things. He sleeps on the bed with me. I have our bed against the wall. He always gets near the wall and hits his head continuously.. or just on the mattress itself. And other things/people. 
Lol it’s normal right? 
Im learning all of the things kids do. 
I just call him a silly baby. But I know the wall has to hurt 🤦🏻‍♀️

My best friend's 2yo daughter does this constantly through the night. They found out recently that sure had mild sleep apnea and this is her way if self soothing. They had to do a sleep study to ensure her breathing patterns were safe.

Following. My son started with just playing around hitting his head on things but then I guess we reacted to it because now when he gets upset or throws a tantrum he bangs his head on chairs, the wall, the floor, my shoulder... pretty much anything around him. And then he cries worse. He got mad that we were leaving the store the other day and almost banged his head on the concrete.. ON PURPOSE.. it scared me so bad.

Maybe he’s just a Rockstar, sorry trying to ease your worries. My baby does it she started doing it when she started teething and now it’s a soothing thing for her.

My 14 month old does this our pediatrician said its sleep regression/self soothing... Kinda freaks me out but hes not hurting himself at all he will do this for about 10 minutes and then be sound asleep if he wakes up in the middle of the night he will drink his sippy bang his head and go right back to sleep..

My husband did this as a baby/toddler then switched to shaking his legs back and forth, it was a sensory thing and he was rocking himself to sleep in a sense or at least that's what the doctors said back then.

My twins are 13 months and they've started doing this too. I think it's normal. As long as he isn't causing himself physical pain, it's probably fine. My little ones just love the sound of their head against the wall, those little weirdos. They think it's fun. I wouldn't worry :)

My daughter doesn’t do it but my year old niece does and has for awhile. The doctor isn’t concerned but I would mention it to your doctor

My parents said I used to do it till my head turned black and blue! Maybe cut and put pool noodles on all hard corners or a pool floaty on the wall 😂.
