Maternity leave?!?

Ok y’all I’m 36+4 and still working.  I’m a nurse and do 12 hours on my feet.  Today was rough.  When did y’all take maternity leave?!? I had in my mind I would work until this kid came out but ohhhh my.  I’m barely walking at this point almost didn’t make it up my steps hubby had to help me.  I think someone has kicked me between the legs and this back pain is unreal.  I’m so stubborn and can’t admit its time to take a break.  I’ve never not worked. Anyone else struggling with working?

I worked my 12hr shifts up until the day I delivered but there’s no way I could do that with this pregnancy. You’ll have to listen to your body. Maybe cut back to 1-2 shifts per week so you can conserve your leave for once baby arrives?

I was in the same boat while pregnant with a manager who pushed me to do everything a none pregnant woman would do including taking care of current chemo pts. I ended up losing all my fluid and having to be induced at 36+6. Listen to your body! Last thing you want to do is hurt your baby or yourself!

I worked until I was 36+6..had an extremely stressful last day at work and went to my 37 week appointment the following day to find my BP was elevated. I called my boss right then and there and told her I was done. I wound up being induced a few days later. Prior to that I had been feeling so run down and exhausted, and I wish I would’ve listened to my body more when it was begging me to take a break. I’m pregnant with #2 and plan to stop as soon as I feel that way again

I worked until I was 36 weeks pregnant my boss made me stop lucky cause I gave birth at 37 weeks

I went out at 38 weeks with my 1st. I'm a teacher.  This time I'm working till 39 and just hoping I make it to 40 weeks so I can have that time to relax!

I worked the day before. Not a good idea. I should have rested but in the end it was all okay. Listen. To. Your. Body. You'll know when you've had enough.

Don't feel guilty about needing to break. I took early maternity leave and I am glad I did. I rested my body and mind before baby and it was quiet nice! Take the leave and most Devin listen to your body ❤❤

I worked up until two days before my scheduled induction.  Only cause it was scheduled for the Sunday on my weekend off. :-).

I was due Nov 5th. Started laboring Nov 2nd worked a partial day. Went into the hospital at 5pm had her at 8:04am the next day.
