Is spotting at 10 weeks normal?

I've got some dark red spotting, not enough to fill a panty liner but enough to leave a spot about the size of a nickel in my underwear.

Update: Ended up passing a hunk of what looked like mucus plug with a dark stripe through the center. I called the on-call OB with my hospital and he said that often times that happens when you're doing too much. Told me I need to start taking it easier and to carry my 30lb toddler less. He said to try to get in for an appointment tomorrow and to stay off my feet.
