Thank you cards?!

Wasn’t sure how you’re supposed to do thank you cards for baby shower, do I just give them to the people who came, and people who didn’t but sent gifts? Idk how it should be worded if I send it to both. Don’t want to just send something like “thank you for coming” to the people who sent gifts but didn’t come lol

I tried to keep track of the gifts people gave me, I had someone write everything down as I opened gifts at the shower and have been saving the note/gift receipts of things that were sent to me. 
This way when I write my thank yous I can thank them for at least one of the gifts. Simple enough to say "Thank you for coming to my shower, I really appreciate the blanket" or to someone who didn't come but sent a gift "Thanks for the books, I can't wait to read them books to baby and enjoy for years to come."

I would thank them for the gift they gave you??  If they didn't come, then no, I wouldn't thank them for coming😋

If you know what they got you it’s definitely nice to mention something specific like “ I know the baby will love the adorable bear you got her!”. If they didn’t come to the actual shower but sent a gift you should say something like “we wish you could have joined us but it was so thoughtful of you to send the lovely blanket”. And if they came but didn’t bring a gift you should still send something acknowledging that they took the time to come. just like “we were so happy to see you and glad you could join us in celebrating our little girl!”

My sister wrote down who gave me what while I opened the gifts. Our plan is to have the birth announcement cards made when he is born and then write a little thank you to go along with it. Easy enough. Plus I’m sure guests would enjoy getting a picture of the cute baby they got to spoil. :)
