Would you continue seeing a guy who does drugs occasionally?

I’ve been sleeping with a guy who’s told me he takes drugs occasionally on a night out and when he goes to a festival. It’s definitely a turn off and I’m unsure if I want to keep seeing him. It’s his life he can do what he wants but I’m not into that at all

If it’s a dealbreaker for you, it’s a dealbreaker. Don’t pursue a relationship with someone, hoping they will change or trying to force them to do so—that’s a lot of work and rarely ends well. If it’s not for you, it’s not for you and there’s nothing wrong with that! Dating is all about finding compatibilities and you’ve found this incompatibility early on

I mean, what kind of drugs are we talking about? A little weed occasionally? Meh that’s fine. Is he like, shooting heroin or using meth? That’s an issue.

It wouldn’t bother me really but if you aren’t comfortable with it then don’t try to force yourself to be. If that’s what he’s into then you can’t expect him to change it for you, but you shouldn’t change yourself for him either, so if you have different views on this and you can’t let it slide then probably best to just move on.

In your situation, no. That is an absolute deal breaker for me. But there’s also others out there who consider weed to be a drug, in which case I don’t classify it the same as all the hard and illegal drugs and weed isn’t illegal here anymore, and that I don’t have a problem with.

Do you see him growing out of it any time soon? I wouldn’t get too serious with him if it is a deal breaker for you and if you think it will be part of his life indefinitely...
