Pursuing an older man. Should I go for it?

My neighbor who is 22 is really sweet and always keeps a conversation going. He's only been my neighbor for a couple of weeks but with all the information hes given me about his life, the good advice he gives, and the emotional support he loves to provide to everyone- I know that i really want this man. The age of consent here is 17 but I know people will be like BUT YOU'RE A CHILD so I'm just gonna wait til I pass that arbitrary line that makes me an adult lol. Luckily for me it's in a few months so I don't have to wait that long and I can use the months now to grow a stronger friendship with him. Do you guys think I'll be successful? 😭 Hes so beautiful and gorgeous plus he has a sweet Venezuelan accent

Go for it. Like you said, you're waiting until you're 18 to pursue him and that's very mature. Plus it'll be a 4 year age gap. If he was like 25 or something I'd say no.

I wouldn't pursue it. If you decide to go for it, just be careful because older guys usually go after younger ladies because they usually don't have experience when it comes to intimate relationships and what not. Some older guys can be manipulative and controlling. Just be careful.  I have been in your shoes before but the guy that was older than I was had been interested in me since I was 14 and he was about to turn 18. My mom at first forbade us to even look in each other's direction but eventually he charmed his way into being allowed to even speak to me by doing stuff for my mom like try to carry groceries in the house and take the garbage out when he saw one of us taking the garbage out, etc. Lol! It was really cute and funny. Eventually when I was 20, he was balls to the walls after me then! But it only went to being a sexual relationship that fizzled very fast because he was a cheater. He cheated on the chick he was with at that with me but lied and said they wasn't working out and a bunch of other bull.

Depends how he feels about you. I mean personally...dating a 17 at age 22 isn’t appropriate and I have no idea why people in their 20s want to date kids. I don’t get it. But good luck.

I think it’s a bit weird that he’s into you. I am 23 and I’m even interested in someone that’s under the age of 20.  But I think you should do you though.
