What if I never get baby fever

Laura

Hi all, I am 33 and my husband is 37. We have been married 18 months but together for 7 years. We delayed getting married and starting a family for our education, but now the time has come that we think we want to get pregnant in 2020.

I’ve always waited for the “baby fever” to hit me; I’ve always known I wanted to be a mother but it always felt like “not now but someday”. Now that we are getting older we feel like we need to just do it because we will regret waiting too late and at the same time neither of us has the “baby fever”. My mother always told me “when you know it’s time, you’ll just know” but I feel like that never came.

I want to have baby fever but don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Every time I think of having our first child, a lot of anxiety and stressful thoughts about never sleeping again creep in giving me cold feet.

What was it like for those who were able to plan to have their first? Did you get baby fever? If not how did you choose to move forward and did the fever ever “hit you later”? If so what sparked it?
