So I'm going to a military ball/formal with this guy I've never actually met in person (set up through a friend of a friend). It's on Friday. We've followed eachother on social media and I noticed he seems like he may be a bit short. I DO NOT care at all but the only reason it's relevant is because I'm 5'8 myself and I was planning to wear heels but I don't want to if it's going to make me taller than him. I can wear flats and will if he's around my height (which I'm pretty sure he is, my friend and I compared him in a picture he had with her friend who's 5'10 and he looks like he's around 5'8). I don't want him to think I'm being rude or actually care about his height, I just don't want to look stupid myself towering over him in 4 inch heels!! Is it rude of me to text him and ask?
