Should Alison Morris lose her job?

Okay, so following the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, and his daughter, the news has blown up across social media everywhere. I was scrolling through Facebook, and came across a video of a news reporter on MSNBC, who was speaking about the death.

Someone shared a news clip of her reporting the death, and her supposedly using a racial slur during her report. Since links don’t work, literally all you have to do is search “Alison Morris”, and you’ll see the viral video along with an apology that she issued.

Here’s a screenshot of the video:

Here’s the apology:

Now, I’ve seen the video... And it definitely does sound like she used a slur, but I definitely can see where the mistake was made. There is now a petition to get her fired. I don’t think for one second that there is a news reporter who would go on LIVE television and use a slur during a time like this . After listening to the video a good 20, times I definitely hear “NAKERS” . Another point that I have to make is that a random slur would not make sense in the context that was used. It sounds like she stumbled over her words which can easily happen to anyone .

This woman has now received death threats and is being called every name in the book due to the viral video, including racial slurs. I mean, the comments are brutal as hell. The media is so quick to point the finger before actually putting thought into the situation. Everyone in the comments are focusing on the wrong thing when a woman just lost her husband and baby! Take a look at the video, and come back with your thoughts. Should she get fired? Was it an honest mistake, or do you think that she used a slur?

*This isn’t a debate about race, just wanted to know everyone’s thoughts on rather she should get fired, and if it seemed like a mistake*
