Gallbladder surgery... Anyone?

9 weeks along today...

I have been dealing with some abnormal pains, diarrhea, throwing up (way more than morning sickness) since 12/24! The pains got to the point where I had to quit my job and completely be on bed rest. My husband ever had to call an ambulance one night because the pains were so severe.

After 5 ER visits and many doctors appointments, I was finally admitted to the hospital for 24 hours (1/24). They discharged me once they got the throwing up under control and I could keep down a liquid diet. However, my bloodwork showed my liver enzymes were elevated so my doctor ordered ultrasounds of the liver, kidney, gallbladder, and abdomen area.

Above ultrasounds done yesterday morning (1/26) and they called me this morning with the results.

Liver and kidneys looked normal and not inflamed or anything unusual. They found sludge in my gallbladder along with a 3.5mm polyp. I have been sent to general surgery for removal and my appointment is Thursday (1/30). This appointment is not the actual removal date but the consult with general surgery.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge in this area? I know it is possible to have gallbladder removed during pregnancy but I am a little worried for the health of our baby.
