Can anyone explain this scan to me. It’s my friends and we’re confused. She’s 7 weeks. Does it look like twins?

Tech here! First, this is a terrible image, especially to give a patient. It also looks way earlier than 7 weeks here. Is it possible this was from an earlier scan? I also don't see baby here, just a small sac and a yolk sac. The other area looks more like uterine vasculature. Again, judging from one pic here. But, if that area were a second sac, it is located in the muscular uterine wall, not the endometrium, and would be considered ectopic and non-viable. No reason to think twins from this image. Might be reason to switch offices or at least ask for another tech ... The tech has done nothing here to optimize the image distributed to the patient ... It's just lazy

That’s very small for 7 weeks she looks more like 5 ... below is 7w 2 days

If there’s a heartbeat and a baby and then that little spot, it may be a small sch (not anything to necessarily worry about) I had one and they didn’t catch it until a later scan at about 8ish weeks. Currently 14 weeks 🙂

Do they think the baby is on the left or the right of the picture?  I really can’t tell, they look the same.  Also I’ll post my 8 week scan here.  Not for comparison, but just so you can see how different all the scans looked.  I couldn’t even see my baby when I first looked at it, it was so tiny, they had to point it out.  Bearing in mind the magnification on this one is massive.  Also seven weeks pregnant actually means she’s been pregnant for five weeks.  It’s very early to have a first scan.  I wouldn’t worry so much about such an early scan.  It’s the 12 week one they start to see a lot more of everything, and it actually looks like a baby at last.

I’m not really sure.  Could be twins, could be vanishing twin.  Although if the trained technician is saying just one baby and seven weeks, I’d tend to  go with it.  I had one at eight weeks and it was just a couple of blobs and a faint flicker in the middle, and very tiny.  Looked a bit like this, but with one thing that looked like a sac.  I had heard cases though where the second twin hides in an early ultrasound, and is found later on.
I don’t actually think comparing it to other’s ultrasounds is all that helpful.  I was doing that too, thinking mine there is a lot of space around the baby, but others like the above there is not.  My sister in law had a scan at about 8 weeks and was told there was an empty sac and no baby, but seven months later my niece was born.  And my pregnancy has turned out just fine.  They said it was measuring perfectly for eight weeks.  I’m guessing it’s just some use different magnification on the scan.  That one’s probably life size.

Well, 7 I tn kind of too early for abdominal us, and transvaginal are much clearer on picture. I do see two sacks, but... I am not sure if it is the right place and thing even.
