Cleaning out tubes??

Question

Someone told me if you’re having a challenging time getting pregnant then have your doctor check your tubes and they put saline in it to rinse them out because you may have blockage. I have never heard of this, anybody here know of this? Got it done? Any symptoms? I’m curious and wondering if I need this done myself

Pretty sure it's called an HSG but I've never had one!

It’s an HsG. I had one and it does hurt. I didn’t get pregnant that cycle (we had been trying for over a year at that point), but did get pregnant the next cycle. I don’t know if “cleaning out the pipes” makes much of a difference unless you have a true blockage. I had a friend who also had the HsG and has still not had any success conceiving and it’s been a year since the test.
