I don't want to hear they nay sayers or silly nicknames, or even the, "oh my cousins, sisters, uncles dog is named that." Lol I've never had that specific response but I'm sure I'd find it annoying! I told my mom once about a name we liked and she was so dramatical about how she didn't like the name, it caused drama and hurt on her end because I really could care less what she thinks of my kids names and I made sure she knew that, so in my opinion it's just easier to not tell most people until baby arrives when they have no choice but to accept your choice.

We told people if asked, input from others wasn’t going to change our decision. 🤷🏼‍♀️people can comment away but it’s our kid so we will name as we wish :) we didn’t see a reason to keep it a secret

We only share first name socially, but for immediate family we share full name. Only because it could be subject to change.

Learned my lesson the hard way on this one. Had a name picked out that I LOVED for a girl. My mom reacted in utter disgust.  Big mistake.  Now I’ve fallen out of love with that one and I won’t be telling her the final name.  I’ve given her a short list that I’ll “probably pick one of these” that she needs to get used to, and she will just tell me her favorites on that list but doesn’t seem to be throwing a fit over any individual name.  
If I want monogrammed onesies, I’ll just have to buy them myself.
