Puppy while Pregnant

We just had an ultrasound at 9w1d and my husband brought up the idea of getting a second dog. We have one fairly well trained 5 year old dog, although she still needs better leash training.

I'm due end of August/very early Septemebr and am a teacher, so I'll have July and August off.

We'd both like to get a puppy if we decide to go ahead with it. Could I get opinions from people who've gotten a puppy near the end of 1st trimester or start of 2nd trimester?

If you did it, would you do it again or did you regret it?
