If you’re thinking about getting the shot read this first
I was sitting down with my gyno explaining my problems to him and he knew before I told him that I was on the depo provera shot. I swore up and down that everything about my periods and cycles were completely normal until I got that shot, and when I got it everything changed for the worse and my last doctor just kept telling me “give it time.” Even though I had been bleeding for 6 months and became anemic. I told that to him after he asked and he was like “yep sounds like the shot.”
I have told a plethora of women on here to avoid that shot. The doctors I had before kinda ignored me when I told them that the shot forever changed my body. It was really important to me that he agreed with this fact. He said he has 1-maybe 2 patients in a year who he thinks the depo shot is a good match for but says that me personally, I should have never been on that shot a day in my life. Everyone’s body is different so It’s not the same for everyone of course and if the shot works for you then you’re just one of those good matches.
BUT IN GENERAL: avoid this shot like it’s Satan.
The negative side affects I had were hair loss, weight gain, anger issues, memory loss, non stop bleeding, huge painful cystic acne, and nausea. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. It was awful. I also forgot to add this: my previous gyno pressured me into getting this shot and also pressured me to continue taking it even when it was putting me through hell. Don’t let them do this to you, stick to your “no” and if they keep going, walk out of that place and find a better doctor. I learned this the hard way. I found my new one by looking at his reviews.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
