Hello! My husband and I just had our first baby girl! She is the first grandbaby on both sides. My parents are in Atlanta and his parents are in St Louis. We live in Wisconsin. His mother is very overbearing and when they stay with us to visit she has moved around our furniture behind my back and claiming “it looks better there”. She still baby’s my 33 year old husband and he just says it’s just easier to let her do her thing and then fix stuff when she leaves... but I feel like he is only enabling her and not putting me first. She also brings a bunch of old junk to our house (husbands old baby clothes and things) that we don’t want or need and then gets mad at us when we throw them away or donate them. I’m having so much anxiety now with a baby of my own. My parents are much more chill and respectful of boundaries but his mother is not and he hasn’t stood up to them yet.
