Are we bad parents?

Are we bad parents for planning a weekend away? Me and my hubby’s anniversary is in September and our daughter will be about 6 months old, and because it’s our 5 years we were thinking of planning a weekend in Florida. I just don’t know if that makes us horrible for leaving her?

Nope, just because you had a child it doesn’t mean you have to pretty much have no life outside of them.

Parents deserve time to themselves. It doesn’t make them bad parents. But I would wait until closer to time before you actually make the decision/put any money down. You may decide you aren’t comfortable leaving the baby

It’s not horrible at all but based on you timeline of your post, sounds like you’re still pregnant. If this is your first baby, you may not be ready to be away from her even at 6 months. I haven’t spent the night away from my son yet and he’s 11 months. We’ve had a few date nights but always come home. I’m just not ready yet. So I might now book something until you know how you’ll feel once she’s here. Everyone is different.

I don’t think it makes you horrible for leaving her. I couldn’t do it but There are some people comfortable leaving their kids and some people aren’t. Doesn’t mean you’re a bad parent. It means you have reliable people in your life who you trust your kid with and that’s a good thing.

No me and my husband go to Vegas once a year and leave the kids with my sister. You can’t forget about your marriage just cause you have kids.

No not at all. My husband took me to Florida in December for my birthday for a weekend. My son was 7 months. It was hard, but definitely not grounds for being considered a terrible parent! Enjoy your time away, mama 💕

Nope not at all. Parents need to have there time alone every now. Got to keep your relationship fresh and have fun with just you two.
