Does anyone elses babies wake up from a nap crying hysterically that's not due to hunger?

Like naps are only 30 mins and I know he's not hungry but he will wake up from a nap crying hysterically sometimes. I feel bad for him but is this normal? I don't think it's gas either. At night I get waking up crying because he's hungry but for naps to? It's rare my guy wakes up from a nap happy.

My LO does this, but usually only for the last nap if the day. I bet it's cause he's still tired...

This used to happen a lot to my girl who is now 14 weeks. Usually I chalked it up to not transitioning from one sleep cycle to the next, but still being tired. I would try to soothe her in the bassinet (pick her up and rock her if that didn’t work) with the goal of getting her back to sleep. 
Now, she either wakes up content from naps or I wake her up because it’s time to feed. 
If she’s ever grumpy right after a nap (especially a short one) I know she didn’t get enough sleep.

My baby would do that and scare the crap out of me. I was super convinced it wasn’t gas but it turns out it was even though I would burp him like crazy.

Ours is doing this occasionally when he is really tired and he wakes up as part of his new sleep cycling. We just try to help him back to sleep if we can. 
If he’s awake and ready to play, he is usually making noise and looking around. If he’s awake and pissed that he isn’t still asleep, he usually has his eyes closed and keeps pausing in between bouts of crying to try and get comfortable. 😬
