Potty training
My husband and I got two lab puppies in December. They were from a rescued female - she was rescued from a breeder while she was pregnant and then the rescue found homes for both her and her pups. Both are males and it is believed they are pure chocolate labs. They’re amazing dogs.
I know potty training takes time and so far they’re doing great. I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips for getting them to let us know they need to go out. They both go potty as soon as we take them outside and they always get praise and a treat. But when we’re inside, they don’t give any kind of indication they need to go...not even sniffing around. They just squat and pee. I tried some bell training and one of them seems to be slightly catching on but the other doesn’t seem to get it. I’m not using puppy pads because I had a bad experience with our old dog getting confused and using anything that resembled a pad (like my rugs).
Any tips for getting them fully trained would be greatly appreciated!
