Anyone sell on Etsy?

How did you do your first month? 
Please do NOT leave shop names or anything. That's not what this post is for.

The problem is, Etsy is so big now & has so many sellers that unless you already have a following of loyal clientele or are prepared to invest a nice chunk into advertising, you may just get lost amongst all the other sellers. If you just want to do it for fun, then no harm, no foul. If you have people you already sell to, then just have them start buying directly through your Etsy site. The more customers/sales you have & the better your reviews are, the bigger chance you'll have that your item will come up before someone else's. 
Otherwise, you can set up your shop & pay for top advertising & search result spots & maybe even offer "new store" promos to try & nab customers before you lose too much $$.

Sigh.  
When. I first started knitting I had dreams of having this amazing Etsy shop with a booming business where I sold tons of cool hates.  
That was five years ago.  My first month I sold nothing and so I never bothered posting anything else for sale.   😂

I spent just as much as I did making money so I was constantly breaking even or going negative. I’m sure i can be in the positive but that means A LOT more money invested (supplies plus advertising) and more time.
