I had my Nexplanon removed on 12/31/2019. I had 2 rounds of Nexplanon so In total I had had it in for about 5 years. I started experiencing weird symptoms. My period didn’t stop until October of 2017 and prior to that had only came once every other month from the time of initial placement in March of 2015. My mood swings were all over the place. I was tired and had no energy. So I decided to have it removed. There are not enough discussions to what we feel AFTER the removal! I felt nauseous, headaches, cramping. I was extremely aggravated. I felt as if I was pregnant! My vaginal discharge changed and I thought I had BV (TMI) but turns out it was my body readjusting from being on a progesterone only birth control. At first I was worried about my period returning. About how soon it would return and if it would be how it was before it stopped. My period didn’t return until 01/25/2020. I experienced the worse PMS but other than that pretty regular. No major cramping. It lasted 4 days which was typical for me prior to my initial placement.
