Turning a breech baby

So yesterday, we had the doctor turn our baby.

I am 36+4 and my baby has always been head high.

I'd been given home exercises, torchlight tricks and Chinese medicine cigars. Nothing worked.

We were then directed to a specialist who turns the baby.

2 hours of scans and monitoring each side, the 15 minute procedure was reasonable simple, but painful. The doctor literally jabbed his fingers into my stomach and pushed the baby.

My sister in law went through the same thing but was unable to complete it.

It is amazing how much less stress is on my body as the baby now sits in the right position.

Heartburn and reflux have not returned, I can walk and bend more comfortably and breathing is easier.

I also see the kicks more when I lay down.

We are glad to have a chance at a natural birth now (fingers crossed)

But if anyone was considering having the turn i would recommend it.

Judt remember to relax and be open to all options.

Dont be too anxious. It was only painful for a minute or so and the pain was only the pressure of the doctors hand.I would say it was about a 4/10.I focused on my breathing and tried to loosen my muscles as much as I could. Overall it was more checks and waiting than anything else. If you want to have someone there with you just to pass the time and hold your hand it is good. My husband came with because we live in germany and he translates for me when I dont understand it all. But after all the checks were done, we went for lunch and then a small walk in the forest ( they say you shouldn't do too much after but a light walk is good) I wish you luck in your turn and hope you get the outcome you seek. But if not there are always options- My niece was born breech and she is healthy and happy.
