So my friend is having this problem at work. She works at a place that is understaffed. I’m not sure what the laws are with vacation days but her employer doesn’t seem fair to me.

Every year she comes to visit in September (she lives in another state). Last years she requested the time off with her vacation days and was approved. About a month before her vacation days her boss decided they are going to go on a vacation so told her he needs her there.

Now this year she already put in the request for time off in September with her vacation days. Her boss said he can’t give her a answer yet. Because another employee is quitting soon and unless they hire someone else they will be to understaffed and will need her.

Now these are her vacation days that are in her contact but keeps having problems trying to use them. Is her boss allowed to do this? Seems like it’s wrong for them to keep giving her the runaround every time she wants to use vacation days.
