Posterior cervix???

Just had an IE today and doctor said my cervix is soft, but it is positioned posteriorly and thus not ready for labor... anyone else who have been told the same? What did you do to make it anterior? Im so frustrated. Thanks in advance mommas

All cervixs are positioned this way during pregnancy and move forward either right before labor or even DURING labor. You don’t need to do anything and there isn’t anything you can do. Each women has their own individual gestation time, 40 weeks is an average not a deadline so women go into labor at 37 weeks some at 42 weeks. There is t anything we can do to change this and it’s not abnormal to be one way or the other. The last weeks of pregnancy are the hardest. I’m a long gestater it’s sucks but all I can do is wait. I’ve been 41+4 and been high tight closed thick. So far the same (I only check myself my provider does not) with this pregnancy at 37+6.

I didn’t think that mattered for delivery. I’ve always had an anterior placenta which just means that the placenta is between my baby and my skin not behind the baby. I also didn’t think it would change position. Sorry, this isn’t a helpful answer but I don’t this anterior or posterior matters.

I had a membrane sweep yesterday and this is my third baby and mine is still posterior. Midwife said the baby has just nudged it out of the way( because he’s massive, unlike my other two boys 🤦🏻‍♀️) and towards the back but it’ll come forward when labour starts. I am also super frustrated at 39 weeks and I’ve never gotten past 38+0 before so I feel your pain! Lets hope things start to get going soon!! 🤞🏻

All crevixes move posterior when you first get pregnant, it’s to protect them from infection. Then when you go into labor they shift into position, and that can happen very quickly. So it’s normal, don’t worry.
