Continuous birth control?

Question

Jan 10th my doctor told me to start taking my bc continuously to see if that will help the extreme pain I've been having in my uterus and ovaries. I normally would've started my period this week but since I'm having to skip the placebo pills, I didn't. I got up this morning and I'm having light pink discharge like I normally get when I start. 
I thought I wouldn't have a period or anything while taking my bc this way?

Theres always a chance of spotting or even period like bleeding if you are trying to skip periods.  The first two months I tried to skip I had light to moderate bleeding, then the third try there was none.  Even though birth control kinda replaces your own hormones, you still make some and that can be enough to cause bleeding or spotting. Just stick with it. Even though I had bleeding I did not have horrible cramps
