So, I’ve never had “normal” periods. Started in January of sixth grade, had it every other month for exactly two years. Then , it stopped. Went to our family doctor, tried different birth controls, discovered I’m allergic to the basic ingredient. Was referred to University of Michigan Hospital. Went through lots of testing, probing, biopsies, various other birth controls, etc. They were stumped. Suggested I would “just grow out of it”. It’s now 20 years later and I will ONLY get it when I am under extreme amounts of stress!!!! My doctors are still stumped. They told me I have Secondary Amenorrhea, or basically I have had a period in the past but now I don’t. I haven’t had one in 4 years, until today! Which, I should have expected but was still taken by surprise. Does anyone else have this situation? Is there a name for it?
