Did you do the NIPT test?

Did you/are you going to get the first trimester screening done? I have heard people get wrong results and then stress the whole pregnancy and baby comes out fine.

Answer

I did the NIPT test at 12 weeks and our results came back at our baby being high risk for turners syndrome and only 1% of those babies are born alive. Well two weeks ago I gave birth to a very healthy baby girl who we just found does not have Turner syndrome. I would not do this again. It caused me so much extra stress and anxiety the rest of my pregnancy. I do understand why people do it and it's the same reason I opted for it but this is just my personal experience with it.

NIPT is 99% accurate. It’s the old first trimester quad screen that has a high false positive rate. Most doctors recommend NIPT for higher risk pregnancies (ie family history of disorders) and for moms 35 and up.
