My daughter will be 8 months on the 4th. She is not a good sleeper. We had to work really hard at it but we got her down to one feed a night. It was occurring anywhere between 3-5am on average and she would go back to sleep after but be up at like 6 and wasn’t getting a full nights rest.

So I said screw it. Let’s sleep train. She’s soooo close and naps a crap. Well night one she cried for an hour (with regular check ins) and cried herself hoarse. We’re weaning the night feed so I have a scheduled time to feed (midnight). Night 2 she slept all the way through besides for the night feed.

Well tonight I fed her at midnight and now she’s up at like 4:30 and crying again. I feel so bad about her hoarse voice but she doesn’t want her paci or gripe water which normally helps. I think she wants to eat which I won’t give into! My husband thinks I’m horrible for letting her cry but 1- she’s not getting up for the day at 5:30 and 2- she does not need to eat! She gets about 32oz or formula during the day plus solids so she gets all her calories. She’s not lacking. It’s just habit I think. I just feel so bad but at the same time, she’s a high strung kid who doesn’t back down easily.

Mom life is hard.
