Do babies need to be drinking water at this age?

My little guy won't hold or drink from his sippy cup. I've tried 4. Anything I can do to help him learn? Right now we're using the munchkin weighted straw.

They do, about 2oz a day. We use an open cup (ezpz tiny learning cup is our favorite) and it was only a mess the first few times. Now she can hold it (I’ll get her started but she’ll take it from me) and there’s just a little dribble. 
We also let her play with an empty cup and she practices holding it and putting it to her mouth. It seems to be helping!

We use the nuk learner cup, the munchkin straw cup, and currently trying to teach her the 360 cup. She loves water and drinks about 3 oz a day. Now she tries to steal my water bottles.😂😂

Amelia only drinks from a doidy cup she likes it but obviously it’s an open cup so I have to hold it for her!

No, they don’t need it at this age. But it is good to practice since they’ll need to be drinking water at a year old. Water also at this age can help with digestion and dry mouth while eating, but unless baby is constipated, the fluid they’re getting through breastmilk or formula is enough. There’s a maximum for water consumption at this age, but no minimum.

We mainly use a doidy cup but she's not interested at all. She will take a few sips and then just spit the rest out regardless of the container. I think because She's a boob monster She's filling up too much on milk, because a few weeks ago I was ill and only nursed her every 3-4 hours and she drank 30ml water then.

She drinks a couple ounces of water out of a bottle that I attached a handle too. She has not mastered a cup or gotten close haha
