Confusion about FRER

Why would I get a faint, but clear, positive on a dollar store hpt but barely any second line on a FRER?

I have taken 3 dollar store HPTs the past two days and they are positive. I have also taken 2 FRER (one with FMU) and they could easily pass as negative because it took about 5-6 minutes for barely barely anything to show - and of course at the 10 min mark, and when they are dry, you can see a faint pink line (and also when held up into the light)

I’m so confused. Has this happened to anyone? I’m 2 days passed expected AF and with my first pregnancy I got blazing positives 3 days before AF on a FRER.

Can anyone shed some light??

Forget the FRER and get the First Response digital! It’s still really sensitive and you will get your answer. With my last pregnancy I got a YES+ at 11DPO.

Okay well just get bloodwork to confirm and carry on. Not sure where you live but here in Canada it’s $21 for two digitals. They are my favourite tests, I personally don’t like their traditional pink dye tests though

I’m not overly impressed with first response right now and don’t really want to drop another $25 on a digital when I could possibly end up with a similar result. I must be pregnant, I have missed my period and had several positive tests. I just don’t understand why FRER isn’t picking it up

They have different sensitivity levels, maybe the dollar store brand is more sensitive

Mmm FRER is the most sensitive test on the market.
