Started the day with therapeutic rest. When got admited after at 5cm and 90% effaced. Walked around and had pitocin cranked until 1am then asked for the epidural. I wasnt feel much but didnt want to. Got the epidural and then got checked shortly after which ruptured my amnitoic sac. Thank god I already had the epidural. Had to get an interuterine contraction monitor put in because the OB was worried I hadnt progressed with so much oxytocin, they had it set at 18 and the max was 20. All soon as my water broke I went from a 5 to 9 but my epidural wasnt working in my pelvis, it only worked in my legs back and abdomen. I ended up on my side in so.much pain i couldnt breath and was in tears so my nurse got the back up epidural guy(cant spell the actual name) and they gave me a huge bolus of fentanyl in my epidural along with some other stuff which eventually took the pain away but I still had to breath through every contraction because of the pressure. Started pushing at 7am and at 8:58 my princess was here. She had so much fluid in her lungs they coded her and had the nicu team in. They put her on the cpap and suctioned her a lot for about 30 to 45 minutes before I got to hold her. We are not doing skin to skin in our post partum room. Im still numb in one leg and had to get a cathiter which hurt because of having my legs open again and I had a small 2nd degree tear that needed 4 stitches. They still burn so bad i cant move my leg because of pain so waiting on pain meds.
