Potty training

So my mother in law got my daughter her own little toilet for her 1st birthday, I knew at the time she was to tough so I kept it in the box for a while. A few months go by and my MIL keeps making comments about getting the toilet seat out. I know in my head she’s still to young, but I felt pressured so I got it out. I strayed putting her on it after diaper changes just to get her use to it, didn’t expect her to go. Well did that for a few days and she was completely fine with doing that, one day she went on the potty, complete accident and I cheered and clapped, might have scared her a little with all my excitement because then she stared to cry a little. I calmed down and said it’s ok, got down on her level and simply said good job. Ok so we are good there, the next time I sat her on the potty she got off quickly and as standing in the bathroom waiting for me to get her diaper on, well she peed and it went down her legs and on the floor. I gasped (by accident) and then she started crying. Well after that incident she has been terrified of sitting on the potty so I havent put her on it, figured we would take a break. I’m worried I started to early and now she’s scared and will take longer, I knew I should have listened to my gut and not even started her but my MIL kept pressuring me about it. I’m really worried I made it worst by doing it to early.
