Ok ladies, there has been soooooo much controversy on which epidemic/pandemic is worse. But what do u guys think? 😊

Influenza kills an estimated 61,000 Americans every year. 
World wide 616,000 people are killed from the flu every year.
The 2017-2018 flu season an estimated 80,000 Americans died from the flu compared to 392 deaths Canada in the same year. 
The flu is worse. 
This corona virus is a blip on the radar.

It’s really impossible to say how bad coronavirus is at this point, but I don’t understand the need to weigh it against the flu. 
The biggest problem with coronavirus is that transmission spreads before symptoms appear. There are also some real problems with medical access in China and the fear of their authoritarian government is making some sick people not report in, therefore continuing to spread it. Containment seems to be going better in the US and other areas so far though.

If you catch it, the current coronavirus is worse than flu. You're more likely to catch the flu though. I just hope to avoid catching both 🤷‍♀️.

We can’t really say yet. We currently know more about the flu and have a vaccine that can help prevent some cases and reduce severity. The fatality rate for flu is around .2%. We’ve had about 19 million cases of flu in the US this season and 10,000 deaths. The coronavirus is something we don’t know a lot about yet in terms of it’s transmission, it’s ability to survive on surfaces, or even how many people are infected. While the fatality rate appears to be around 2%, which is high, we do not yet know if there are many more cases of coronavirus that are mild. If there are,￼￼ as is expected, the fatality rate will have a corresponding drop. What is most concerning to me about coronavirus is that it appears it can be spread before a person is symptomatic, which makes containing it extremely difficult.
