Am I wrong to give my husband a chore list today?

Question

I do 95 percent of the housework and I work part time at an office next door while taking care of our almost one year old.  He does work hard but if I want help with the housekeeping it kinda goes like this, 
"Can you put away your new underwear?" (There's a bag of new underwear on the entertainment stand)
"Yeah."
He goes and just moves the bag to another surface.  I ask again, he forgets.
I love the man but he is so terrible at cleaning I think I'm going to give him a chore list today, not everyday but I feel really tired of doing it all alone 🙄
He doesn't cook either, which I don't mind, I just want help cleaning up the daily stuff.

With my fiance i dont give him a chore but whenever i need help i just say hey babe it would really help me if you did xyz ive done a lot and would like you to join in. And he usually does whatever I ask of him. Honestly a lot of men are like this they are messy but dont know how to clean and i blame their mothers lmao i make my son help me clean hes only 2 so i make it fun but he still learns with me! Anyway yeah he should he helping you out

My husband is also an overgrown child. He’s been that way since the beginning. Its honestly the most straining part of our relationship. Me constantly asking him to PICK UP HIS SHIT. He had a maid growing up and he was the baby of the family and his mom spoiled him. He never had chores or responsibilities. THANKS LADY! I’ve tried all different strategies and literally have to tell him every day to : pick up his socks off the floor, put his dish INSIDE the dishwasher and not next to it, put away his laundry. We were on vacation and came back over a month ago. I pack for myself and our 2 kids and unpack for the 3 of us. My husband is responsible for his own packing and unpacking. His suitcase is still in the bedroom, a month later. I refuse to treat him like my 3rd child. 
Try the chore chart? I’m hoping that my constant reminders for him and my kids will sink in one day. He has gotten better in the 12 years we have been together but is still faaaaar from being a functioning adult as far as his messes are concerned.

Its wrong that you should have to. 
Men get away with being lazy at home so often. I think it seems from the 50s mentality of women should do all house work. 
Well that doesn't fly with me. 
My partner works 40 hrs a week and still does the dishes and Hoover's every evening after we ear dinner. 
I have a 3 year old and I cook and clean all day. Along with washing and ironing. 
He knows how hard it is to be a stay at home dad as he was off work for 3 years. So he is very good and helps me out whenever possible. 
I love and appreciate him all the more for these little gestures 😍

We have a fancy whiteboard in the hallway where (mostly I) write what needs to be done. So he knows to check it when needed, it's also located between the computer room and the bathroom so he can't really miss it.

I do most of the chores and keep myself organized by making a checklist on a whiteboard. Sometimes if he's not busy, I'll ask my husband to help me (or he might just do some of them on his own). I think a chore list is great, it keeps everything organized and you don't have to wonder what's done or needs to get done... It's also really satisfying to cross things off lol.

Find what works. 9 times out of 10 I have to ask my husband to do something. He rarely takes the initiative to do something on his own. If he does something on his own, it is mostly limited to putting dishes away or making the bed. He has certain things in our life he is completely responsible for so I have no issue giving him a nudge now in then. He told me himself that telling him what to do works best for him. It doesn't hurt to try a list. It may work better for him.

On the weekend when I work, I tell my SO before I leave what needs to be done that day, otherwise he probably wont do all of it on his own. Hes good at helping with some stuff without being asked, but certain things he just doesnt even think of.

We do chores together, I find this is the only time things get done in a timely manner. Like ill clean the bathrooms while he sweeps/vacuums
