Twin mamas I need your advice please!

Tori • Married with 2 year old mini me :) B/G twins due 4/2020

Hi my beautiful mamas. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant with my di/di twins. This is my second pregnancy and my husband and I currently have a 2.5 year old who attends daycare.

My job allows me to take maternity leave paid (12 weeks) + FMLA protection. I’m wondering if this will be long enough with the twins. I’m worried about how stressful the first year is with twins (plus a toddler). My concerns:

Running out of Work PTO for baby/toddler sick days, lack of sleep, etc.

Having to rush in the mornings getting all 3 children to daycare before I have to get to work myself at 8am.

Not getting enough quality time with all 3 of them.

The stress outweighing the money I would make.

I know the first year is quite busy with doctors appointments and checkups and getting accustomed to life with new baby/babies. But I feel like I am totally unprepared how hard it is going to be with twins added to the mix.

My job does allow unpaid leave of absence for up to a year and I am considering taking the first full year off to be with the babies. We can survive on my husband’s income alone, although it would be a bit tight. I would feel much less stressed than sending my 2 newborns off to daycare after my maternity leave and paying over $2,000 a month for childcare.

So twin mamas what should I do? Will I need the extra time off with my babies or is it not as hard as it seems it will be?

Thanks
