Relationship survived breakup?

My boyfriend and I just broke up but we still love each other and both want to be together. We’re meeting on Thursday to talk things through, as I came to my parent’s house for a few days (my boyfriend and I live together). 
Has anyone ever broken up and ended up back with their SO? Or changed the break up to a break so that things could maybe slow down?

We broke up and got back together like twice a year for 4 years until I finally stopped returning his calls after he broke it off again. The whole time we were together, and even when we were apart, he would talk about how he truly believed we’d end up together and we were meant to be bla bla bla. He wasted 4 years of my life with that. It wasn’t worth it.
I met a great guy 4 months later and have been with him for 6 years, no breaks, no back and forth, just a wonderful stable relationship.

I've done both & both times I ended up breaking up again. People break up for a reason. Move on & in the future if it's meant to be than it's meant to be.

Yes, one of my first serious boyfriends we broke up and a month later we started hanging out again for another 3 months or so. It was never the same. We didn’t last long

My boyfriend and I were together for 5 years, broke up for 2 months, then got back together. During the break up, I stayed with my mom for a month then got an apartment because I thought my boyfriend and I were really done..then I moved back home with him and also had the apartment as "back up"..bad idea...It's been a year since we got back together but it hasn't been easy. We're still working on it. 6 years coming up soon. 😏🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
