37.6 Week Birth Story Feb 1!
My baby girl is here!! We were scheduled for a repeat C-Section on February 10. On Jan 31, I had been having Braxton Hicks that were getting more painful by the day. Around 3:00 am Saturday morning Feb 1, I was having painful contractions 5-6 minutes apart and decided to go to the hospital as we live over an hour away.
We arrive at the hospital and got hooked up to the monitors. I was only 2 cm, so we waited an hour to see if there was any progress. There was no progress after an hour so they gave me fluids to try to get the contractions to stop. They didn’t stop, but the hospital sent me home anyway.
I cried the entire way home, because I was still in severe pain and I just knew something wasn’t right! So we drove the hour and half back home, and my husband and I took a two hour nap, while I continued having painful contractions. I woke up to a HUGE gush and knew my water had broken. So here we go again back to the hospital!!
Once I arrive, I get checked and am at 4 cm and so they start prepping for my c section.
The surgery was traumatic because I had so much scar tissue from my previous ectopic pregnancy and c section that the doctor cut into my bladder, so once baby girl was out, they spent over an hour repairing my bladder. I will have to have a catheter in for 10-15 days, so that stinks, but I’m so blessed to have a healthy baby girl!
