pregnant?

ive had the mirena iud for 1.5yrs now and have had absolutely no spotting or blood for a year, until yesterday.
it was very faint pink in my discharge
i took a test today and it showed a stupidly faint line but my camera still caught it.
has anyone gotten pregnant on the iud? and what happens if you do?

I’m 7 weeks pregnant and had the copper iud. Keep doing tests then ring your doctor. You definitely can be pregnant and it’s important to find out for sure. With the iud there’s a higher chance of miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies which are very dangerous. 
Your doctors will normally have you take a test with them to confirm then schedule an ultrasound to see what’s going on. 
If the baby is in the right place then they’ll decide wether to remove the iud or not (it’s safer to remove it) but also removing can sometimes encourage miscarriage. 
Our baby is in the correct place and we decided to remove the iud as they found it was half out anyway. It was removed a week ago and everything’s is ok atm.
If the pregnancy is ectopic then unfortunately it’s not viable and the doctors will figure out how to remove the pregnancy.

Answer

The dosage of hormones drops yearly with the iud. This means you can start bleeding again/irregular bleeding after having no bleeding for a long time. It doesn’t mean you’re pregnant.
