TTC After Breastfeeding
Has anyone had issue getting pregnant or with miscarriage once you stopped breastfeeding? Before my last successful pregnancy, I had gotten pregnant when my oldest daughter was 9mo old and I was still breastfeeding her at the time, but that pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. After waiting one cycle after the miscarriage (now my daughter was 13mo and I stopped breastfeeding her at 12mo) I got pregnant again, but that pregnancy also ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks. We waited 2 cycles after that miscarriage (daughter was now 17mo) and I got pregnant which was successful and we had our second daughter. My second daughter just turned 1 January 18th (which coincidently was the start of my cycle) and the day after she turned one I stopped breastfeeding her. My husband and I decided to start trying/not preventing during this cycle. I’m just wondering if anyone else out there had stopped breastfeeding and started TTC right after, and how that affected getting pregnant. Were you able to get pregnant right away? Was your pregnancy successful, or were there any issues? I know obviously your hormones change so much when you stop breastfeeding, just not sure if it can create issues with getting pregnant or having successful pregnancies. Historically, we get pregnant very quickly either the first month trying or the second, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we conceive this month but we are totally ok if it takes longer. We just want a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby in the end 😊 Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
