Adoption or foster care?

Question

Did anyone decide to bypass the fertility doctors and go straight to foster care or adoption? How long had you been trying? Did you adopt or foster then adopt? Did you ever conceive naturally afterwards?

Following. We’ve been trying for 2.5 years. Just got over a chemical. My husband doesn’t like the idea of fostering- if we had to give the child back. I plan to look more into it when we buy a bigger house, hopefully within the next year. I’ve always wanted to adopt but it’s very costly. Fostering can also lead to adoption💖

Haven’t done this but I’m open to the idea of adoption if conceiving on our own ends up not working for us. Sometimes I try to get myself excited about adopting to take my mind off the disappointment of not being pregnant yet 😕🤷🏻‍♀️
Sorry I don’t have any experience to share with you but I do think its a great idea if you’re open to it, giving a child a home and loving family.

i’m adopted! my parents tried for 4 years naturally and my mom also tried to get inseminated (by my dad of course). mom and dad went straight to adoption instead of fostering but they were open to the idea of fostering. my parents also never conceived afterwards and mom has a hysterectomy when i was 2.

I've been trying for 7yrs and still no luck decided to give fertility treatment from my obgyn maybe having a little hope but my husband and I are going to start the process of fostering and once that's done gonna do fostering for a few months and then do adoption that way i have both out of the way and maybe I can keep my mind off of trying

We are currently in the process of fostering, it’s helped take my mind of ttc. So maybe it’ll happen soon. I’ve had three chemical pregnancies in four months so we needed a bit of a break
