When should I tell work that I’m pregnant?

I was just wondering when everyone told they’re boss that they’re pregnant?
Not sure if there’s a right time to make them aware?

I needed to go for lots of blood tests and appointments throughout my pregnancy that started at about 6 weeks, I also started throwing up regularly at 5 weeks. I told my boss when I was about 8 weeks because I needed time off for appointments and I didn’t want to keep making excuses when I was entitled to the time off for appointments. I explained that I’d have multiple misscarriages previously and I was pregnant again so I needed more monitoring than normal. She was extremely understanding and supportive and kept it confidential so I could tell my co-workers when I felt comfortable telling them. 
You don’t have to tell them until far later though. Tell them when your comfortable telling them ❤️

Definitely wait until after the first trimester. Otherwise, it really depends on where you work. You can even wait until you start to noticeably show. I would tell my work as soon as the first trimester ends because I would need to be placed on limited work duties because I work in a dangerous environment. The latest I would tell them would be at 6 months because of FMLA and maternity leave. Congratulations!

I’ll be telling them after we announce, so 16-20 weeks. My job isn’t overly strenuous and boxes never weigh more than a couple of kgs if that and it’s not often I have to lift or move anything. So I don’t see the point in telling them sooner. Also had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks so I couldn’t imagine thinking I was safe and telling them, only having to then tell them what had happened. It’s a new job and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable (plus the people I work with are huge gossips so the entire department would have known) 
But there’s no right or wrong answer, do it when you feel you want to x

I went through this a few months ago. It really does depend on your workplace. But I told mine about a week before I announced on social media. I wasn’t friends with anyone I worked with on it at the time but I live in a smaller town and I knew the word would probably get back to someone there. I would tell them around the time you announce or any time after that you feel comfortable with!

I told my manager and line manager when I found out as I’m having really bad sickness and I might need time off for appointments (I work in a school so don’t get holidays in term time) 💕
